  • What hit has more impact Punch from an MMA fighter in 4oz gloves vs a boxer in 8oz+?

A boxer would arguably throw the better punch but would the weight difference in gloves actually make the MMA punch more impactful on somebody?

I feel like I see more one puch KO's or near in MMA now than boxing.

        That's part of its utility.

It's dumb to say smaller gloves don't lead to more KO's though.

I think Sports Science did a bit on this. They found that the force derived from MMA and boxing gloves are practically the same. The difference is that MMA gloves have a smaller area of contact...so if you get hit on the chin, your chin is eating all of that. A boxing glove hitting your chin might also touch your neck and cheek, making it easier to take. It's the reason why head gear is helpful -- spreads the force of the punch.

The impact of the punch no matter the glove size is no different..just more cushion for the hand

smaller gloves are just more likely to cause cuts

depends on the fighter/person, the glove size wouldnt really matter much.

MMA gloves hurt more..less weight to push which means INCREASED speed and INCREASED punching force.

With that being said boxers just punch fundamentally better so even in 10oz gloves...a boxer hurts you more than an MMA would in 4oz

It helps to lessen hand injuries and cuts...think of it like this..if you get hit by metal car or a rubber car at 100 miles per hour the impact is the same isnt it?
