  • Welterweight Title def.

    I'm looking at the belts history at welterweight and I don't see anyone in history with more titles defenses than Tito Trinidad and Henry Armstrong.
    Tito had 15 and Henry had 19.

    Also he was a champ at the weight for almost 7 years

    "A" champ is a key distinction and the calendar is wrong. He vacated the Welter title he won in 93 in early 2000 (far less than eight years and change). Trinidad had a nice start, and a solid run in 94, but his reign was marked with inactivity and he didn't face real comp for much of it.

        Armstrong's number of defences is incredible considering he only held the WW title for 2 years, be expensive to follow him these days on PPV
