Journalists wouldn't have jobs if all the time they had to give up their source in order to be trusted. If as a journalist you start yapping off about the people who gave you information, it won't be hard to be blackballed, blacklisted, what have you by people who don't want their information to be out there in the public. They are in the business of reporting rumors. Most of the time they aren't true, but every once in a while you may stumble upon something.

I don't think ESPN should fire Atlas for his erroneous story but he should be held accountable. If it proves to be false he should say so on this Friday's edition of FNF..

Lol, They want Atlas fired??? Some of these people are really dumb, Atlas didnt accuse Pac he just said things he got from a source the same way Brian Kinney say things he got from source when it comes to Mayweather.

              I agree. He's a terrible boxing analyst/commentator anyway.

It would be good for the sport if ESPN fired Teddy and replaced him with someone more intelligent and more personable, perhaps John Skully or Joe Mesi.

That would require ESPN to actually care about its boxing personnel.

Atlas was in prison in his teens.

I think he's cut from the same cloth as the Mayweathers.

Do Pacquiao fans realize this is not the book "1984"?

He wants ESPN to fire Atlas for doing his job. The guy is just doing his job and supporting his family. Atlas is reporting information he got from someone he trust... it's not his fault the information is false. Maybe Atlas reported the story because someone else reported a similar story about the emails.

What if he got the information from someone in Floyd's or GBP's camp and they used him?

You must not have seen "Resurrecting the Champ." There's something called journalistic integrity. If people in the media don't have the integrity to verify the accuracy of their reports or their sources, then it only hurts us in the end. You always contact both sides before you report something as fact.
