Glen's style would have caused some serious problems for Joe.

i would'nt say calzaghe was not afraid of johnson, which he could've been
but im also not gonna he would've lost to johnson because i just dont think he would

i can see calzaghe winning a ud only if he grew the balls
Gosh do you sound simple-minded. Calzaghe is one of the best fighters of the past 20 years, undoubtedly the best by far of all the 168 pounders since that division began.

He didn't quit, he collapsed from the heat, and his corner quit for him. He couldn't talk. Ruby Goldstein the famous ref collapsed after the 10th rd and they had to have another ref to continue. Maxim weighed about 185 and Robinson weighed about 155. Robinson was well ahead on all cards, if he could have just stood there and avoided Maxim even if he'd lost all the remaining rounds he'd have still won the fight.

              • Calzaghe would not have beaten Glen Johnson and he knew he would be beat so he baulked... Frank Warren told the same story as Johnson just has... Calzaghe knew he could not beat Glen Johnson

At the time, Glen Johnson would have probably been the toughest fight Calzaghe had ever been in, and it may have changed the course of his career, win or lose. If Johnson had won, it's possible there would have been a rematch.
