It looks like he was imitating Rickson Gracie which in a way is a diss to Maia. It's like he was trying to compare the two, saying that Maia is just like royce and rickson, a primitive fighter, bjj guy with no standup whatsoever who is still stuck in the old days where fighters were extremely one dimensional.
