  • Comments Thread For: Valuev Advises Vitali To Reject David Haye Challenge

Russia's first world heavyweight champion Nikolai Valuev, has advised the current WBC beltholder, Vitali Klitschko, to reject the challenge of British star David Haye. Three years ago Valuev lost a twelve round decision to Haye. The Russian boxer suffered from a variety of injuries and never fought again. During his layoff, there were several negotations to make a fight with Vitali, but all of them fell apart due to financial reasons.

Did Vitali ask for this insight or was this unsolicited~

I think it is probably good advice though, if Vitali's heart isn't in it it will be very hard for him to chase down Haye without getting flustered and frustrated, at his age he would likely have a hard time making up for the mistakes that those things bring.

Then again that is a lot of money to walk away from, from a fight that isn't all that likely to incur tons of damage on him

Don't take a big money fight because you will get a dominating UD. That advice makes so much sense.

I donīt know why Valuev even bothers to comment, but heīs absolutely right. Vitali doesnīt really need the money, and Haye for sure doesnīt deserve it. And the fight itself would be a snoozer; Haye on the run for 12 rds, VK winning 120-108 *3 and Haye laughing all the way to the nearest bank. Vitali at 41 should just call it a day and concentrate on things that actually matter.

The fans that want to see it must think he deserves it or they wouldn't want to see it. Or do you go by who the governing bodies rank as deserving?

Wasn't Valuev the guy who was almost doing the Amir Khan against Haye in the 12th?

I remember he was on his way to getting knocked out..

Stick to mating with Yetis Valuev and leave the prize fighting to prize fighters.
