I don't think Diaz is to blame to be honest, you can't give a great trainer a mediocre quitting gatekeeper an expect him to mold the "fighter" into a Hall of Famer.

In those two losses he faced the best fighter in the world and a young 5'10" jr. middleweight. I don't think any trainer in the world would have helped Cotto win those fights.
