Kinda like Stalin and atheism.

That's ridiculous, as usual. Because atheism is rather loosely defined, nobody pretends that Stalin wasn't a "true" atheist. Atheism is a lack of belief in gods, so of course the non-believer Stalin was an atheist, nobody denies this.

Unlike christians who constantly attempt to deny any connection between themselves and mass murderers by claiming that the subject is in some unquantifiable way, not a member of their cult.
