  • What keeps you motivated?

For me boxing is something I think about all the time. I'm terrible at school my parent's don't know. Only thing I'm hoping for is that I can get good at boxing my parents want me to be a doctor but I'm barely passing college.
When I started I didn't have enough time to train and I got in **** with my workplace because I was working less so I could train more and got fired.
my parents got pissed because I was playing a stupid sport instead of making money. My first gym pretty much ignored me and never work with me. I went to a new gym which treats me a lot better.

When I train I think of all that stuff they tell me about how I should give up on boxing and that I should work and study. How I get ignored and I just train twice as hard thinking.

A quote that I always believed in

"If they can make penicillin out of mouldy bread, they can sure make something out of you. " - Muhammad Ali

Some videos that I watch when i feel to tired or too lazy to train
check these out , they might make you feel good too.

I watch this one when I feel like a no good piece of **** and I think about whether I should just quit boxing .

competition with other people, I can never accept defeat (sounds kinda poetic and **** but its just me)

I hold myself up to a higher standard than other people hold themselves up to. I never measure up to my own standards because as I get better my standards get higher and higher and higher so I'm forced to work harder. Some people think Im nuts and a crazy athletic but I think I could be better, even when Im better.

Sounds like a rockstar, not a boxer.

That's crazy, It's exactly how I feel too man, am ignored by my parents and they don't believe that I will accomplish nothing out of boxing, plus it's not only them it's everyone! But like you say that's the motivation that keeps me going, am going to start school in a month and work the night shift, and the gym comes in between the afternoon, so am definitely not thinking about quitting the sport, I love it and I put my life in front of it first instead of school or work. I want to live life at what I want for myself and not others..
