  • right cross/straight right

Can someone please explain the difference between a right cross and a straight right hand and possibly give an example via a video clip from you tube or something...

A right cross is when your in your orthodox stance, and to throw the right you turn your torso to get your weight behind it...

A straight right, is a less powerful, but usually faster style punch, and usually your more squared up to fire it off...

A cross sometimes sweeps from the side, it's thrown wit your strong hand, but at an arc. Hence the name, a str8 right is thrown str8.

the cross is the harder punch, the straight is a quick popping shot, like a harder jab really.

a cross is harder and thrown across your body, usually always set up by the jab

a straight right is thrown straight and with less weight behind, for this reason it can be thrown as a lead and not be telegraphed a lot
