  • Who would have won if the fight had continued. Vitali or Old Lennox

If the fight wasn't stopped in the 6th and Vitali kept fighting with that injury. Who would have won and what would have happened?

I think Vitali had a big chance to be honest, because Lewis was almost 38 years old and clearly under trained.

The thing is Vitali's eye would have fallen out in the next round or two

      Lennox was not old.

He was age 37, the same age Vitali was when he fought Sam Peter and close to the same age Wladimir is now.

And Lennox was a young 37, because he hadn't taken a lot of punishment in his career.

Lewis. Vitali was already holding on for dear life in the 6th.

Lennox was gassing out in that fight. They did the right thing by stopping this fight Vitali eye was about to fall off. Lennox did the right thing by retiring after that fight. That was the last real HW fight that was a classic.

You don't go by age.. Lewis at the same career stage that Wlad was fighting Purrity was fighting against the best HW'S in the world and in a 4 men tournament that involved Ruddock,Holyfield,Bowe. He started getting to the elite level a lot faster. Vitali retired for four years and came back. Wladimir had an slower rate of progression. He started fighting at the world class/elite level 16 fights in. Vitali and Wlad started the world class jump 30-40+ fights in.
Also HW'S age over night, Wlad is 36. Let's see him 18 months from now and than we talk.

Not to mention in what world is almost 38 not old? In what world? Outside of Hopkins world?

So you are basically saying Vitali's eye would have fallen out? Is that what you are saying?

Old Lewis. I thought he looked the better in round 6. The undercut nearly took Vitali's head off.
