  • Canelo will NOT be a 3 division champ if he beats Fielding.

I agree with the sentiment that Canelo will not be a 3 division champion if he beats Fielding, BUT it's hilarious how all of the wanna be Eastern-Euro dorks that are pushing that agenda kept claiming and still claim that Golovkin tied Hopkins record of 160 pound title defenses at 20 when a bunch of them only had a WBA Regular title on the line, just like the bogus title Canelo is fighting for.

Golovkin did NOT tie Hopkins and Canelo will NOT be a 3 division champion if he beats Fielding.

Canelo will eventually become a legit 3 division champion though. 168 isn't that great and the top dogs there will be moving up to 175 soon.

Solid point there. The 20 MW defenses was such a BS propaganda thrown out when the regular title never applies for anyone else. No one was saying Jacobs was a real champion when he had the regular title.

Canelo even if he beats Fielding won't a three division title since Callum Smith is the real WBA champion at 168.

Yeah I mean I can agree with that.

Gennady fought like 14-15 cab drivers (literally) and 4-5 C level fringe contenders before going tooth and nail with Danny Jacobs and getting Ca$hnelo'd

And BHop would've destroyed Gennady at any point in his career, including his early 50's XD XD XD

Canelo is fighting for the "technicality" of being a 3 division champ. It doesn't really mean he's the champ at 168 tho

Its a real world title. Therefore he'll be a 3 division champ.

This wont be the last time he fights at 168 anyway. He'll unify or go for a different belt.

Hopkins reign was a joke. Padded his record against of no-hopers and never-was contenders and pretenders. Guy fought Robert Allen 3x, imagine of GGG fought Monroe or Murray 3x? Hopkins has one of the most overrated runs at any weight class.

Why drag GGG into a Canelo thread? GGG defeated 20 guys with a world title on the line even if it wasn't for the full title. Canelo is fighting a world champion even if everybody knows the real 168 pound champion is Smith who KOed Fielding in the 1st round. Don't blame Canelo and GGG for the alphabet groups having two or three so called world champions in each weight class.
