  • Comments Thread For: Golovkin's Return on 1/19: Rosado, Guerrero in The Mix

BoxingScene.com has been advised that Gabe Rosado (21-5, 13KOs) is the lead candidate, at the moment, to fight WBA middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin (24-0, 21KOs) in an HBO televised fight on January 19th at New York's Madison Square Garden. The boxer under consideration is Fernando Guerrero (25-1, 19KOs).

so GGG wants to fight a junior middleweight or a guy who was just knocked out by Grady Brewer??!! Whats the motivation for a middlweight to have a goal to become a MIDDLEWEIGHT contender if he gets passed over for a junior middleweight?

Golovkin-Guerrero is the much better fight between the two choices.

It doesn't matter who. If you were a Middleweight who was a top 5, top 10 contender and you found out that GGG was offering a junior middleweight a shot instead of you, you would be pissed off.

None of the top 15 middleweights are willing to fight Golovkin.

Quillan, N'Jikam, Martinez, Chavez and even Rubio turned it down.

They also tried for a couple of super-middleweights who said no.

Rosado and Guerrero have fought at 160. Rosado is having a problem making 154, so he has to move up.

Mind you, I'd sooner see GGG fight Martinez, Quillan or Macklin but he cannot fight people who duck him.

Don't kid yourself. Show the link where all 15 turned him down. And Rosado's last 7 fights were at junior middleweight which makes him a junior middleweight. Fighting ONE TIME at 160 does not make you a middleweight. And Guerrero was knocked out by Grady Brewer only a couple fights back.

Then he shouldn't make the claim you moron. Those links don't exist because 15 guys did not turn down a shot at the title, pinhead. You are dismissed. Go.
