Toney really was weight-drained for that fight, Roy knew that Toney was weight drained as he talked about it in the post fight interview

Yes he was but Toney only has himself to blame, he knew he was going to fight Jones if he had won the Prince Charles Williams fight, which was about 3 months before the Jones fight, really stupid of him to balloon up in weight when he knew he had a fight scheduled so soon afterwards.

Yes Toney was weight drained, but the fight wasnt close at all.
Toney was also 26 at the time and can only blame his lack of discipline for having to go to such lengths to make weight.

James Toney was not "weight drained" when he was taken to school and thoroughly humiliated by the greatest fighter he ever fought.Roy Jones simply exposed a prime James Toney's limitations, much like Montell Griffin did when he also took Toney to school.
Can't get schooled back-to-back and claim being drained was the reason you simply didn't have enough talent cope with two master boxers.

Toney and Griffin would do the same thing, with a lot of emphasis on the leaping left hooks as wellLast edited by Toney616; 08-14-2010, 10:38 AM.
