No sir, not at all. Like Tua said, it happens every 4 or 5 years. When Oscar left who would have guess Pac would have been the star he was? They have too many resources.

Would they start working with other promotional companies? Sure, but you know what? They haven't stopped doing that. Not even a year ago they worked with GBP to make Gamboa-Ponce De Leon. They also have worked with the Japan's giant promotional company of Teiken promotions.

Top Rank knows how to build stars. They got the best matchmaker in the business in Bruce Trampler. They will be good. And, like Tua said they will be good long after Arum leaves also. When Todd Dubeoff takes over.

        probably better with todd tbh.

        todd knows the business.

he pretty much runs top rank now , with uncle bob having final say in everything of course and making the bigger decisions.

but as far as ins and out , todd knows what he's doing.

plus todd is easier for other promoters to work with.

he won't be prime bob arum in his heyday but he can keep what bob has built going.

People said the same thing about Don King back in the day. He was the biggest fight promoter and had no real competition but look at his company now, Don King productions has become a 2nd rate promotion company. If it happened to King, it can happen to Arum.

Arum has outlasted King....That tells me that they're completely different. Their resources are/were not the same.

that's because don king concentrated on his heavyweight monopoly.

don had fighters in many division but his bread and butter was the heavyweights.

what happened to the heavyweight division the past decade?

But they didn't start at the same time. When Arum started getting involved in the boxing business, King was already on top and had a much more impressive roster of fighters than Arum has ever had.

How can you say he concentrated on his heavyweight monopoly when most of his fighters weren't heavyweights? Wilfred Benítez, Roberto Durán, Salvador Sánchez, Wilfredo Gómez, Alexis Argüello, Julio César Chávez, Aaron Pryor, Ricardo Lopez, Félix Trinidad, Terry Norris, Carlos Zarate, Azumah Nelson, Mike McCallum, Gerald McClellan, Meldrick Taylor, Marco Antonio Barrera and Ricardo Mayorga.
