  • If Floyd Defeated Mosley and Pacquiao, Would He Have A Legit At Being The Greatest?

Lets say, Mayweather were to defeat Mosley and Pacquiao, would he have a legit claim at being the greatest fighter of all time?

And if not, would he be a top 5/10 ATG?

He would still not be the greatest of all time because he wouldn't have beaten better fighters than Ali, SRR, SRL, Henry Armstrong, etc. He could lay a claim to top 20 ATG.

No. At this point Floyd would have to move up and dominate middleweight and win a super middleweight belt to have any chance at the top 5 or top 10.

I think thats being a bit harsh. With wins over Mosley and Pac. Would there be much between him and Willie Pep for instance? Who virtually all put in there top 10 ATG list.

Who only won one world title at the one weight, and him and Mayweather's resume of win's would be pretty even, if Mayweather were to defeat Mosley and Pac.

But if you look at the top 10 all time for most people, Mayweather doesn't match up. Tommy Hearns won belts at light heavyweight. Roberto Duran won a legit championship at middleweight. Floyd would have to clean out 147, move up and establish dominance at 154, and win a middleweight belt to crack the top 15 most likely. Henry Armstrong dominated multiple divisions at the same time. Sugar Ray Robinson cleaned out multiple divisions and beat middleweights as a welterweight. Fighters today can't really matchup to that.

Mayweathers chance at being GOAT is gone. If he had fought Sharmba sooner, took Cottos 0, Hatton at 140, a younger Mosley probably at 135, a younger DLH, then Pacquiao he'd be top 5. He's still a great fighter, but potential doesn't get you ranked with the ATGs otherwise Roy may be number 1.

He'd be top 10 for me easy. But not the greatest....

He fought too many guys outside of their prime.

You also need to have more convincing wins. I believe he lost to Castillo in their first fight and DLH.

If he beats the fighter Mosley is now, and Pacquiao while he's in the prime of his career, and does it convincingly, then he could be arguably the GOAT. If not GOAT, then definitely a top 5 ATG.
