A Chinese man with a Team Tyson tattoo on his arm bumped into a member of Tyson's circle at a Tyson fight in Vegas and told him when asked about the tattoo that his grandmother had on her deathbed told him to follow Mike wherever
When told Tyson's reply was "What the **** was wrong with his grandmother!?"

-(not sure if this one is true) Ever wonder why they call them boxing "rings", even though they are square? In Ancient Rome, boxing rules were introduced and competitors were required to remain within a circular ring drawn on the arena floor. They have been known as "rings" ever since.
-Ali called Leon Spinks Dracula after the first fight. In training camp for the second, Ali brought a Crucifix and said "the man is too ugly to wear my crown. He has no teeth!"
-Pete Rademacher made his pro debut in a title bout
-the last time hopkins fought someone older than him was in 1998 (simon brown) [yeah I had to throw in a hopkins factoid ]
-Light heavyweight great Billy Conn was payed $2.50 for his first pro fight..... his manager took $2.00 of it because "You lost the fight, and besides you got to eat!"
-Speaking of Vampires. Anyone remember Vampire Johnson? He would come out to the ring in a coffin dressed in a complete Vampire outfit, cape and all.

Speaking of Archie, in one of his fights with Yvon Durelle, Moore was knocked down 4 times! When he went back to his corner, his manager Doc Kearns told Archie that his wife was afraid that he was getting killed & that, "to comfort her & to show her he was all right", he should wave at her. Arcie said he would be glad to be didn't know where she was. (She was sitting right behind Archie's corner). Doc told her she was sitting just behind Durelle's corner so hurry up & wave at her before the bell rings for the next round. Archie stood up and "waved at his wife" while looking over at Durelle's corner. Story goes that when Archie stood up and waved at him, Durelle thought Archie was mocking him & it so demoralized Durelle that he ended up losing the fight.Last edited by McGoorty; 10-07-2011, 09:04 AM.
