Could Nintendo go third party?

I mean, the Wii U isn't selling well, and it's being sold at a loss. Could the Wii U make Nintendo put their games on other platforms?

I just skimmed through that topic, and this is what I have to say:

Bringer says that Nintendo will become like Sega because they're coming off a series of failed consoles. However, Nintendo made a profit on the GameCube and N64, even if they didn't sell the best. Nintendo was the ONLY one of the big three to make a profit on their console last gen. There are multiple sources that say Sony and Microsoft BOTH lost money on their consoles:

Another thing to take into consideration is that the XBOX brand is a money pit for Microsoft.

As you can see, Microsoft has barely made any money on the XBOX brand, which started in 2001. And it will only get worse this gen:

Sherlund says that if you back out the Android profits, Microsoft is probably losing $2.5 billion on Skype, Xbox, and Windows Phone. Of that, $2 billion in losses are attributable to the Xbox platform.

Highly unlikely. Nintendo is THE most profitable game company of the last 2 decades. Tripling both Sony and Microsoft's profit margins, on top of controlling the vast majority of the Handheld Market.

Nintendo's not going anywhere for a while, and that's good because more competition means a healthier market, and Nintendo has always been the leading innovator.

Do you really think Microsoft made no money from Xbox 360? Sony and Microsoft willingly lose money on consoles because game sales is where they make money and Microsoft sold a lot of games for the 360, one of its games was the biggest seller something like 9 out of 10 weeks.

All 5 of the greatest selling games of all time have been from nintendo. Grand theft auto 5 and san andreas were its only competition in the top 10. Nintendo is the single most succesful and the single most profitable video game company in the industry.

Nintendo is the reason I love Video Games, but Sony is now carrying the flag for a new generation, and they are going to take the art-form to unheard of levels.
