Entertaining? He got outboxed most of the rounds and needed low blows to win the rematch. The only entertaining thing that makes it for people is how he has the "W" over a white guy from Russia.

You're such a casual you think it's the "super 8" but we should trust your boxing knowledge? The fact you don't know the details accurately is exactly how the boxing establishment is able to fool you so easily about fighters like Ward. This is a perfect example of that. We're not "hating," but he is a dirty boxer who never legitimately beat a top prime opponent, who sued his promoter a bunch and was quasi-retired for half of his prime anyway, and now he's retired for good, all while seeming to think he's the best thing since sliced bread. I'm not glad he's gone because I wanted to see him fight top prime opponents, but his career made clear that was never going to happen, so it is what it is. His division, if nothing else, will be much better off without him hording three belts but refusing to fight the best.

i thought ward should have had points taken and that kovalev should have had time to recover on several occasions. i can't see how any sane individual would argue with that. he's not evander holyfield, but he's without a doubt boxing's most prolific headbutter on the p4p level. probably the biggest head butter at the p4p level since hopkins. maybe i'm forgetting somebody, but i doubt it!

exactly what every fighter and promoter wants, which is to fight easy fights for big money for several years.

He's not even doing that. He's fighting nobody at all.

So what at least he fought him twice. Where as Mayweather retired while the division was heating up & didn't fight any of the top dogs at 147 at that time & retired for 2 years.

This could do amazing things for the 175 division. Kovalev-Shabbransky should be for one or two belts now, and the Beterbiev fight should be for another one, also Bivol's fight. Then Stevenson, Kovalev, Bivol, and Beterbiev can fight to unify the division, which is exactly what was supposed to happen had Kovalev not gotten robbed. It can be like Ward and the corrupt robberies of Kovalev never happened, and all the fights that were going to be for championships, like Kovalev-Stevenson, Beterbiev, Bivol, etc, can be once again. Not for all the belts at once yet, probably, but that's a small set back. As long as the fights happen, the biggest "home team" protected fighter in the division is gone, so maybe, with there no longer being an establishment protected fighter left in the division, the boxing establishment can just let the fights happen without corruption for once, and we can actually have a division king determined without corruption for once.

That would have never been possible with Ward in the division, because he would always be protected. Haymon might still buy off the judges for Stevenson, potentially, but Stevenson is not a huge holder anyway, at least not yet. Put him in the ring with Kovalev and you never know... but other than that, I mean, this is just amazing for the division. If Stevenson can have one belt, Beterbiev can win another, Kovalev can win another, and Bivol can win another, that is the epic "four Kings" unification of giant punchers we've been hoping for the whole time, we just didn't know about Bivol yet, but before it was three punching kings...

Ward just gave boxing a second chance not to **** this up. It's already way later than it should have been, so I'm not saying it can truly be made up for since Kovalev and Stevenson both seem past prime and Beterbiev is reaching that age too, but it is a second chance to at least make something good out of their **** up of never making Kovalev-Stevenson or Stevenson-Beterbiev.

And I forgot Gvozdyk too. So there are five big punchers right at the top of the division. And Badou Jack at #6, Barrera at #7, Joe Smith at #8. This could really be an amazing year for 175 if these guys actually fight each other now. Please!!!!

It wouldn't be fair to Barerra if Kovalev vs. Shabranskyy was a title fight, since Barerra just beat the **** (3 KD, KO in 7) out of Shabranskyy in December. I don't know why Main Events didn't let Barerra fight Kovalev now?

people don't read my **** because it makes them feel inadequate. i've never been a fanboy of any fighter on bscene. ever. got that **** out of my system in my teens before internet posting was even really a thing on a major scale.

they're biased, i am not. might make me sound big headed, but i'm just a better poster and boxing fan than almost everybody here.
