Some of us are stupid enough to think that it was about unsubstantiated, uncorroborated claims of sexual assault. The rest of us are smart enough to see the charade for what it was and that the only tangible thing they had was that he drank.

They tried the sexual assault thing, then realized they couldn't prove anything, especially when the folks the victim tried to bring into it couldn't corroborate her story. So then they tried the "Oh well he drank so much and was drunk so often if we can prove that and that he blacked out while drunk we can swing that he attempted to rape her during one of his blackouts".

If people can't see the attempt to swing it that way then there's nothing you can show them. They are already too far gone. The whole point after the not being able to prove sexual assault was to create doubt because of the drinking

The matter they were debating was whether sexual assault occurred or not.

His drinking has been confirmed. So if drinking was what would have prevented him from being confirmed that he wouldn't have been because his drinking has been confirmed.

Yes, the matter they were alleging was this unsupported, uncorroborated claims of sexual assault. Maybe you don't get it. They couldn't just walk in and say, we don't want him, but we got nothing. So they found a woman willing to testify to whatever claim. They had no evidence, no witnesses to verify her claim. This case wouldn't have made it to an arrest or arraignment.

The only thing they had was that he drank. Notice all the memes and such going around with him holding a beer, or a keg. Not of him raping some young girl, but holding a beer. Hes not going to be remembered for saying I didn't rape that girl, he'll be remembered for saying I like beer.

So while by and large that was going to be the end game for them their main focus after they realized they couldn't prove sexual assault was to prove he was such a belligerent drunk that perhaps he could sexually assault someone while blacked out. The main focus at that point was to prove how sloppy a drunk he was and how frequently he drank. Even then if they were able to get it that far, they still couldn't prove sexual assault. They wanted to create thoughts in the minds of people that it could happen. They couldn't prove sexual assault at all though
