I think they should remain separate as there should be at least one functional democracy in the Middle East.

Especially here in the UK. The Prime Minister of the UK was not even voted for, and he is not even calling an election.
As for USA, all i hear there is the constant neglect of it's Education and Health system by every president.
Democracy sounds like a nice idea, but it does not work. I look at living in Britain as proof.
As for Palestine, and Israel. It's all about Israeli presence there in the first place. Britain "Granted" Israel to the Jews.
No Country has authority to grant land from other peoples countries.
You can't just take land away from Palestine and say, oh no, we must give it to the Jews.
That's just stupid.
If Britain was so adamant on giving them land, maybe they should have given them a chunk of their own land? Try and take a hint why Arabs next to Israel are so ticked off, they were literally kicked out in '47

The education system has gaps in the US as well but it isn't perfect anywhere you go.

Haha, Squealy, don't go educating me on the British Parliment system i know alot more than you do son.
Tony Blair was the Prime Minister, however due to countless of scandals, Balir had to retire to salave any sort of reputation left witht he Labour Party.
As for Gordon Brown, he took over by default. However, since the UK Population did NOT elect Brown, but Blair, it is customary to hold an election. Which is what David Cameron is doing but Gordon Brown is delaying it.
It's come to the stage even the the Labour party don't want Brown in charge, and where they have already selected a potential candidate to replace Brown when the elections to actually take place.

As for the roles of Britain and the UN and the Land given to Israel. The irony of this is that Israel was not granted land in any legitimate way. After the fall of the British empire, all lands were given to their respective and rightful owners, (refer to the British empire in India). However, Britain still held influence in Palestine, however, it was of course the land of Palestinians.
In no way did anyone have authority to declare that land as Israel, which is why there is so much tension

IOn Britain you don't vote for the prime minister, you vote for your local Member of Parliament. Leadership is decided by the party members, ratified by the confidence of the house and made official by appointment by the Queen.
But you knew that because you know more about the parliamentary system than me.
