  • Remember when ortiz got mad hype?

The ring caled him the heir apparent to the golden boy throne, the next p4p king!!!

And most of you lot believed it

Alvarez is the same now, looks okay against bums, getting that mad hype, when he faces a killer he'll be exposed too

    Learn from these mistakes people

You do realize Ortiz was winning on the cards before his jaw blew off his face, right?

Not to mention Lopez' eye was closing shut, stoppage was near.

and Ortiz had Maidana hurt and on the canvas a couple of times
still didn't stop Ortiz from checking out of the fights

        He was very hyped.

Who'd have thought at 25 he'd have quit twice whilst being a clear favourite and ahead on the cards at the time and headbutted Floyd Mayweather, getting immediately knocked out whilst over apologising.

You just never know in Boxing.

lol nobody ever called Ortiz the heir to Golden Boy's throne dude. Yes there was hype when he was a prospect and he didn't live up to his potential but he's giving us some very exciting fights why can't fans be happy with that? Same can be said about Khan, who had massive hype in the UK only to be KO'd in one round and struggle with various fighters. Can't blame fighters for being popular, even if they're not the best.

Who's to say Canelo doesn't live up to the hype?

Tbh I think Canelo is a hell of a lot more talented than Ortiz.

Ortiz has never struck me as anything more than a good with above average power. I think he is technically horrendous actually.

he checked out of the maidana fight sure,

jaw broken in two places with a severed vein in his throat does not count as "checking out" if you ask me.

It's actually a fact that he "checked out".

Regardless if the reason for qutting is a justifiable one or not.

not going until the final 12th rd bell sounds, until you KO him, or until he KO's you = checking out of the fight
