          I hear he wanted a rematch with Tocker Pudwill as well.

          To be fair Calzaghe got a ton of money for an easy night's work (vs Veit). Another tough, ugly fight with Hopkins is not what Calzaghe is looking for at this point.

              Veit got himself into being his No 1 mandatory contender therefore it wasn't really his decision.So it's not really a contradiction as Calzaghe had no choice other than to be stripped of his title.

                    Mandatory, highest payday (at the time) with $1.4 Million at a time when he wanted to quit the sport. Warren persuaded him to go through with it, he didn’t want the fight.
