Floyd will get flack, whoever he fights.

It makes me laugh, "he is ducking xxxxxxxx, he is scared of xxxxxxxxx".

Until he fights them, makes it look easy then, "he had no busines fighting him", "he was over rated" he should have fought xxxxxxxxx instead, but he is scared".

He would get no credit regardless of his opponent.

Look at it this way, He was fighting a man who had been touted to beat him or at least give him one of his toughest fights, yet not a lot of people even knew who he was...............Sounds like high risk low reward to me.

This. You have to completely ignore these guys that spend all day just try to detract fighter's accomplishments. There's nothing fans hate more then a champion who makes every fight look easy, and Floyd falls into that category. They will give him no respect until he retires. Just look at history.

Joe Lewis. They said he just fought "bums of the month"

Rocky Marciano. "He only fought guys past their prime."

Muhammed Ali. "The state of boxing is so bad now that it is a shame there are no fighters out there to give him a legitimate test." (Sound familiar?)

Julio Chavez. "Only fights cab drivers"

Lennox Lewis. "No chin! No heart! Ain't fought nobody!"

      Klitschkos. "Heavyweight division is pathetic!"

In retrospect, we give fighters their respect, but while they are active, fans HATE champions that win and make it look easy.

have you ever seen baldomir fight? if you have eyes you could tell he was complete and utter garbage. baldomir was linear but not the best just like zsolt erdei was linear but was he better than tarver or hopkins? no. he would have lost to the first legit fighter he fought but floyd swooped in and beat him first then ignored everyone else in the division. instead of fighting a guy who was ranked #1 for 3 plus years he fights judah coming off a loss to a journeyman and a journeyman. lifestyle flashy!

I agree with everything you said. You however forgot to include Roy Jones in your list. He got a lot of flack in his prime for fighting nobodies.

You're playing semantics. We can do the same thing with a lot of great fighters careers. We can say this guy should've fought that guy instead of so and so. The fact of the matter is Floyd fought everybody he needed to fight to get to the place he is. The only fighter people continue to bring up from his past is Margarito, a fighter who has since been disgraced. Fighting Margarito would have done absolutely nothing for his career and his legacy.

At least Baldomir didn't get caught with loaded wraps, be suspended from the sport, and continue to get his butt KO'd/TKO'd by every opponent he fought after getting exposed.

Floyd fought the likes of De La Hoya, Mosley, and Cotto all while they were ranked near or at the top of their division. Stop hating because he chose not to fight a known cheater who likely shortened the careers of everybody he fought.

Margarito was always a bum, and he got caught cheating. He was never good enough for anyone to duck.

There's nothing wrong in it IMO, people are just expecting Floyd to fight someone else instead during that time.. yes, we can hear the margarito name coming out.. I wish floyd could've done more during that time though, yes, margarito is a disgrace and is a cheater, but it would've mean a lot during those times if floyd fought him and beat him easily, if it happened none of these haters would've been mentioning that duck thing..I know margo is a cheater, but I still wish floyd fought him wayback and silenced many.

Exactly. "Duh, he won the lineal title!" Who gives a f***, it was Carlos Baldomir. He won a title against a mediocre fighter, and saying that fight was anything more and then turning around and ripping other fighters for winning titles against better fighters is hypocritical as hell. Of course, lots of terrible Floyd fans do it.

Of course here come the "Floyd won't ever get credit no matter who he fights," comments.

There was nothing wrong with Floyd fighting Baldomir. There was however plenty wrong with him fighting Judah instead of Margarito.
