It should not be very difficult to figure out,Marquez was(until recently) a high risk-low reward fighter in the lower weights. Not surprising at all Morales did not want no part of him.

I never read anything on anyone ducking JMM. However, Jim Lampley mentioned something during an HBO broadcast. I think it was something mentioning that JMM had been trying to secure a fight with Morales or Barrera and that he had always been ignored until Pacquiao came along.

Lampley also mentioned, during the JMM vs. Barrera fight, that Hamed had openly ducked Márquez and Emmanuel Steward was there and did not deny it.

Does not matter, really. Morales would have hurt Marquez.

Lets be real here people and put a halt to the emotionally driven, revisionist tall tales.

The more realistic scenario is, after he failed in his 1st step up against a world level opponent (Norwood), it temporarily ruined his credibility and took him out of contention with the big dogs in the division.

What in fucks name would any of the top fighters in that division have to fear from a guy who couldn't even beat Freddie Norwood decisively, and had fought no other noteworthy opponents up until that point?

Hamed's gonna duck Marquez, who had done NOTHING of note outside of lose to Freddie Norwood, but take a fight with one of the most dangerous & highly regarded fighters in the sport at the time in Barerra? Get real.

LOL although JMM beat Barrera clearly, Barrera was the one putting JMM to boxing school that night
