I just can't see anyone being even close to beating prime Ali - especially Lewis - who was a great fighter but compared to Ali limited in every sense...
1. Ali
2. Lewis
3. Foreman
4. Tyson 5. W. Klitschko
I think P4P these are the best heavyweights. I guess my list is more of a prime for prime who are the best.
Head to Head:
Ali: Beats Wlad, Beats Tyson, Beats Foreman, Loses to Lewis
Lewis: Beats Ali, Beats Wlad, Can't decide about Tyson (I would say he would win 5/10), Beats Foreman
Foreman: Beats Tyson, Beats Wlad, Loses to Ali, Loses to Lewis
Tyson: Beats Wlad, Beats Lennox 5/10, Loses to Ali, Loses to Foreman
Wlad: Beats none of them, but would beat pretty much any other HW in history. Shows how beastmode the other 4 were in prime.
All-Time resume/career:
Ali
Louis
Johnson
Holyfield
Foreman
Marciano and Lewis were close to the Top 5 all-time, but they had great timing in my eyes. Marciano came when Louis was basically done, and when Charles/Walcott were on their ways out as well, but still pretty good. Lewis got Tyson when he was done, and came when Holyfield was on his way out, but still good of course. Lewis got screwed by Bowe ducking him. Had Lewis beaten Bowe, he would easily be in the Top 5.
Tunney doesn't belong in any ATG HW list, the man had 7 or so fights there and 2 Jack Demspey wins isn't good enough to put him in there if it isn't backed by an over all solid resume at that weight.
the current wlad would dominate joe louis, tunney, jack dempsey and any other old school fighter. there is no chance they could beat that 6'6 250 lb athletic beast of a man.
