It's debatable whether Pryor is even an all time great to begin with.He has two wins over Arguello,a win over Cervantes - what else does he have? His division was hardly brimming with genuine talent. That's why Pryor was waiting for the likes of Arguello and Mancini to step up a division.

Thomas Hearns is one of the greatest fighters of all time.Definately among the top five fighters of the last 30 years
Exactly, Anyone that take Ring Magazine with anything but a bucket of salt is a moron, this article is exactly why...He only won the fight with Arguello like he did because Panama put Inhaler pills in his mother ****ing water, that is what was in the black bottle...Watch "Assault in the ring" it is all documented...Hearns would have beat his ass anyway.

If Hearns beat him like this 17 years old VS 20, just imagine what Hearns would have done to him at any point in the pros, he would have crushed Pryor fast, no question or other outcome.

I don't care if Ring Magazine is called "the bible" of boxing there recent articles are foolish and their current p4p rankings are presposterous.

Some people make a big deal over the fact that Pryor once beat Hearns as an amateur in the Golden Glove Finals . Hearns was still a teenager and didn't fully develop his power and skills under the guidance of Don Thibodeaux and Emmanuel Steward. Nonetheless, Hearns was one of only 5 guys to win legit belts in 5 different divisions. You can add a 6th divsion if you count his minor cruiser titles.

Hearns should've crashed Leonard's press conference, then turn down offers to fight Leonard (and Duran), so everyone can talk about how everyone feared Hearns and wouldn't touch him with a ten foot Golota.

Then maybe Hearns's ATG status can rise through "what could have been".

Bull****. Pryor was an exciting fighter but rating him above the Hitman is ludicrous. Hearns had more dimensions, more power, faster hands, longer reach. All Pryor had on him was toughness. Big win for Hearns.

                Uhm....no.

Take away the two wins over Arguello, and what does Pryor have? A win over Antonio "Kid" Cervantes. That's it.

Tommy Hearns is the far mor accomplished fighter of the two, and it's not even close.

Pryor, as badass as he was - is one of the most overrated fighters I can think of in the last few decades.

I think HBO building him up into something he wasn't on that Pryor/Arguello edition of "Legendary Nights" plays a large part in that, on the forums, anyway.

When did the Ring say this? Right after Pryor beat Arguello, before the drug controversy and before Hearns went on to win all those titles?
