    People are easily manipulated. Having lucrative careers in a field doesn't mean anything other than they have good marketing. Sport-specific training is a myth. Lift heavy, take your 3-5+ minute rests, do cardio/plyos. A stronger/more flexible athlete is a better athlete.

    and if you wanna eat, and supplement like a bodybuilder good luck to you and your poor kidneys
    My blood work is near immaculate...due directly to my bodybuilding diet and supplementation.

        sport specific trainings as simple as going into a gym and hitting a heavy bag! its training that specifically benefits your sport...... come out from under your rock cheif, the worlds moved on from throwing rocks at the moon

          I meant sport-specific weight training, obviously....

          For example, shadowboxing with DBs doesn't do anything to help your punching power/speed. You get that through explosive core work, bench press, overhead press, deadlift, reverse flys, etc.

            punching with light DBs is used to improve endurance not power but i get what your saying.

            speaking of explosive core work, have you ever tried bench press throws? or know anyone? i wanna give em a go but it seems like one easy way to end up in a&e

              I haven't tried it, but seems too dangerous. One slip up, and say goodbye to your sternum.

              However, one good thing I do for explosion (especially to help with my hooks) is take a METAL baseball bat and hit my dummy with it, making sure I use my core and hips to deliver the blows. I gotta work to be able to do it effectively in a lefty stance, though. Even though I'm a lefty, I always batted righty.

                yeah my coach used to have me do that too! on the tattered old bag in the corner of the room making sure i pivot as if i as throwing hooks. a sledge hammer on a old tracktor wheel was a good'un too

                  yeah, I heard those are good, I've never personally done them though. Cable crunches are kinda similar, I just do those.

                  But one exercise I do that applies to ALL sports, ESPECIALLY boxing, is the Arnold press. Works all three heads of your delts, as well as your lats and traps. And obviously, those are some pretty important muscles in boxing for punching speed/power, endurance (i.e. being able to keep your hands up), and defense (traps/delts blocking your chin when you punch).

                      In my opinion it is not good for the health to take too much sports supplement.
                      The regular usage of these sports supplement can be harmful for the health and causes different diseases specially it can destroy the kidneys.
