What good is it to have the best roster without the biggest platform to showcase them on?... Do you understand HBO has something like 7 million or maybe more subscribers then Showtime?.. HBO doesn't need GBP at all, they did 1.4 million viewers on Bradley vs Provodnikov, no way Showtime would have done that kind of a number airing that fight.

HBO is still the premier channel for boxing. Showtime picking up the last 6 cherry picks of mayweathers career isnt gonna change that.

GPB will have no choice but to run back to HBO and try to get them back in the mix. Sure for now everything is peaches and cream between GPB and Showtime, but in business and power things can change in an instant. Why do you think Schaefer hasn't bad mouthed HBO like he has Top Rank? I'm sure it's because he understands that he still needs HBO in order to get every last dollar possible for his fighters and his promotion.. Explain to me why Showtime would hand out any more lucrative Mayweather like contracts to GBP fighters with no other competition to bid against for their services?. You need to look at the bigger picture my friend.

HBO just played Schaefer and made him look like a douche.

basically what HBO is saying is that they aren't going to pay GBP to showcase their boxers anymore. if GBP wants HBO dates, it's gotta be compelling fights. so that means Floyd vs anyone other than Pac / JMM / Martinez can go to Showtime, cause HBO ain't getting milked by Floyd no more. same thing for Broner, Khan, or anyone. HBO ain't handing out welfare no more

sounds like back tracking and damage control. it probably just dawned on this guy hershman that he needs to put on really good fights, on a relatively consistent bases or he will lose his job. and hands down golden boy has the most talented fighters out of all the promoters, so to burn that bridge completely down would probably lead to his death sentence.

Back in the Mix? The biggest boxing star on the EARTH is on Showtime. Look at the fights coming up, who has the bigger and better schedule? Its not contest. Pac and Maquez are on their way out, then who are they left with? rios? donaire? then what?

This. HBO will be better then fine.

This HBO-GBP split is incredible for boxing and boxing fans. Just wait. No more giving out title shots to guys just because they have 10000000 countrymen who live in America who will buy their fights and drive ratings. Now the GGG's, Sergey Kovalev's, Lara's, etc of the boxing world are going to shine.
