What was the reason why Julio Cesar Chavez and Roberto Duran fough a hundred times?

Chavez liked to fight often in Mexico so his public could see him fight often. His major fights and most US network fights were in the States. I think he loved fighting so much and also wanted his people to see him in some of the smaller towns and venues who'd otherwise never get to see him live.
