18 to 24 oz gloves

Is this over kill? I understand the basic pricipal that U'll gain better arm endurance and u'll got use to the weigh, and when u put on 12oz gloves they'll feel like nothing...

...but is 24oz just plain overkill? can it actually train my arms to get use to slower punching? the reason is my hands hurt like a ***** after a few rounds of the heavy bag.

I heard Winning Gloves are thee **** at protection but i just cant affort there gloves.

So i was wondering if these gloves would be all right:

They have extra padding on the knuckles and look pretty good.

Anyone use heavy gloves? Ever use 24oz?

I do a lot of work at home with 16s and 18s and even with these, they make my 14s feel so light when sparring, i do think anything over 18s is overkill though

it depends how big you are if you are a lightweight 24oz gloves are gonna be way too heavy

yeah man take it easy the 1st couple times you hit the heavy bag...also ice hands after wards then like 2 hours later it will help.

I feel ya, but i want to train hard and punch hard so im use to it when i get in the ring.

BTW its usually the middle knuckle and finger that hurts like a *****,
