At this point, its kind of late, but I think Manny could still benefit from going to a different trainer. The difficult thing is how would he find one? Does he just shop around while still with Roach? It may be easier said than done.

It's too late into his career. Besides, he has been on the decline for a while. So, he should just ride out the last 3 or 4 fights, maybe less, he has left with his trainer. He should stay loyal. Those other dudes who change trainers are bums and only go with trainers who are getting all the hype at the moment. They want to be around the best fighters and trainers, but they are not the best themselves. I am talking about dudes like Khan, Chavez Jr, Angulo, Linares, etc. The only reason they go to those trainers is because they want to associate with the best, they don't even think about what those trainers are all about. The best never change trainers, look at Mayweather, Marquez, Ward, etc. They keep it real.

He doesn't need a new trainer, he needs a Psychiatrist to keep him from worrying about getting knocked the fuck out form another straight right. A hesitant and uncertain Manny may as well just retire.

I'd say they've been pretty sucessfull over a long period of time!! They developed Manny style together and its the way HE fights! Freddy didn't push him into Juan after Manny feinted then did nothing and fell in so why should Freddy be blamed! Manny had Juan rockin a few minutes prior to getting stopped, this is Boxing!! Big mistakes cause big Consequences, Freddy didn't trip him!!!!!
Its been said many times already Manny is not giving boxing the attention he has given in the past and he needs to so that his focus is high and that helps limit mistakes! Juan retiring off a defeat of his arch rival is the best ending to his career he could ask for. Pacman leaving on his shield as a terrific warrior who will continue his fight for his countrymen is how some great fighters go out!!! Both will be missed but its time for a new generation!! Ray.

I like how all you Motherfukers are not giving Marquez one ounce of credit for Knocking manny the fuk out. It was only less then a year ago that Manny looked good against a younge, bigger, stronger fighter in Timmy Bradley. Could it just be that Marquez has Pac's number and the trainer didn't have anything to do with it?

Roach honestly has become less likeable as the years have gone on, he seems tired, his motor skills aren't what they were but in order to answer your question at this point no other trainer will really make a big change for Pac. However he comes into the fight is reflected through HIS mindset. Roach brought him a LOT of success for a long time but just because he got clipped with one shot people think he should retire, fire Roach and stuff...come on guys, he was beating Marquez and it was the best he had looked since his fight vs Margarito. His style will never change in terms of being offensive aslong as his body holds up he will fight the same way, he saw in his 3rd fight that he was trying to be too technical and Marquez beats him in that game all day, this time he was too aggressive and he paid the price. Marquez imo beat him in the third, so we can understand why he took the stance that he did. He hadn't really been rocked clearly since their second fight so he had a lot of confidence in his ability to take a punch it's probably why he got so careless. One moment in the fight can change everything, that's all that happened. Roach can't take the blame for that, it was Pacs fault. People need to blame the fighter not the trainer. If he can unprepared in terms of stamina, out of shape and completely using a wrong gameplan then yeah ok but Pac was doing most things right and busted Marquezs face open and was winning the fight.
