    Looking at some of these, and knowing what fights they had in that time frame, makes me wonder how some guys dropped so far.

    I had no idea Marvin Hagler was p4p #1 for like 4 years either.

          Tommy Hearns is a good example. In 1981 he's p4p #1. He loses to Sugar Ray Leonard in a great fight he was winning until he was stopped. He drops to p4p #10 because of that loss? How does that make sense?

            I am guessing (even I was young at the time lol) but the boxing world was a lot deeper, perhaps?

            Also, another possibility is that they had a much smaller panel doing the voting. Biases and what not.

            But in answer to your question I really don't know for sure. That's going to get me on boxrec today though.

                    Pac was also p4p for 2008, 09 and 10. It would have been close had May not retired.
