  • Joshua-Pulev negations will mirror Canelo-Derevyanchenko

The IBF says they have until the 31st to negotiate something.

Why would Pulev take any offer?

He’s entitled to 35-percent of the split if it goes to purse bid. There’s no way in hell he’s going to get 35-percent. Andy Ruiz just got $9 million to Joshua’s $80 million in a fight where Ruiz was champion. That’s a 90-10 split in Joshua’s favor.

Pulev is going to say no to huge offers and Joshua is going to vacate the IBF. Pulev-Kownacki will happen for the vacant title and the winner will fight a unification with the Wilder-Fury series winner in 2021.

    Interesting logic...

AJ-Pulev will happen for two reasons IMO.

-Team AJ want a low risk fight following the shock loss to Ruiz last year. And Pulev presents far less of a risk than Usyk.

-Team AJ want to keep hold of the IBF belt because “the belts” are a huge marketing tool for them, and one they constantly try to utilise.

I expect Pulev to eventually agree terms and the fight to happen in the UK in the spring time.

I don't think there is any way AJ gives up the IBF belt. He will make the mando with Pulev. he may end up dropping the WBO belt then fighting the winner of Usyk/Parker to regain the belt.

If AJ drops the IBF then he fights Usyk.

He'll gladly overpay Pulev and drop the WBO lol

Well if Pulev wants to play that game he can be fighting for the vacant title for much less than he would make against Joshua. Hearn is probably offering Pulev around 6 million pounds ( the same as Povetkin got) and he would be stupid not to take it.

Pulev hasn't got an alternative payday. He'd be a fool to negotiate himself out of his retirement fund.

They'll overpay or it goes to purse bid. If Pulev refuses the purse bid split after the bidding, the IBF will move on to the next available contender.

He'll take the money, Arum is already saying that Pulev will have to fight in England for the most money.

RJJ-94-02=GOAT Are you really talking about logic ? You just created a thread about people who want press conferences are weirdos ? People who want press conferences are interested in the fight ? You never post anything sane, get over yourself . Ha

I don't know where people get these crazy numbers from. Joshua's purse for the Ruiz rematch wasn't $80 million.

Other than that, the thread raises an interesting point. With Pulev entitled to 35% in a purse bid, how much will Hearn have to pay him to avoid a purse bid?

If Joshua vacates, Pulev fights Kownacki for the vacant title. How much would Pulev really make in that fight? Maybe a few million? So if Hearn offers $10 million for Pulev, will he really turn that down to go make a few million elsewhere? I guess we'll see. But yes there's no way this goes to purse bid. Joshua would vacate before giving Pulev 35%.
