Martinez would be a very hard fight for Mayweather
Stop with all the Pacquiao **** tho
He could never beat Mayweather and his team knew it.Its why they turned the fight down twice.Pacquiao would have got schooled badly
Floyd is getting old tho and I think Canelo will definitely test him

Sure there are some guys that beats may handily at this point in his career the constant long lay offs, the financial/court issues, personal problems (relationships w/miss jackson ,Curtis Jackson. The question is Floyd knows this as well and will select the easier fight for the most lucrative contract. Knowing Floyd he's watching tape right now of his opponent he knows who he's fighting GNb and company are just waiting for Floyd to say yes.

Canelo beats him : too young ,too big , he will absorb all of Floyd's lil love taps and where mayweather down, I see roger jumping In Around the 10th round to try to preserve his nephews life.

Martinez beats him: great slick southpaw power punching beast. Mayweather will yu his best to hit Martinez and will it find the mark the whole night and will be eatin left counter straights. Mayweather will not be pullin the trigger aggressively and will take a cautious type approach as he does against all top elite solid opponents he has faced. Martinez will win the first 5 of the first six rounds, mayweather surge and martinez's obligatory mid fight nap time helps the cause. Martinez wakes up in the championships round turns it up and possibly get mayweather to engage by taunting and putting his hands down. Martinez can possibly pull off the Ko , the question is can a 37/38 y.o Martinez can take mayweather power. Both would be great fights and crossroads fights if he takes on Martinez after getting knocked out by ginger , imagine that .

At 147, i don't think anybody. At 154 maybe a few guys. Floyd is getting older and older. If he keeps fighting he will suffer an L somehwere down the line.

That statement just set up your diatribe up to seem like it had some basis.

I'm calling on you to explain that rationale to the forum, because IMO its bull****.

Being the best = money. The best have more opportunities to earn more money. Anyone YOU think is the best and not a champion is not doing it on principle. Everyone chases the dream to be the recipient of a huge payday against a huge draw. No one is in boxing for the love of getting punched in the face.

With all respect, you're full of shit.

To say "Floyd Mayweather fights champions, but he doesn't fight the best" is an oxymoron. The best aren't the best because fans say so. This isn't a popularity contest. The best aren't the best because their promoters say so and pay HBO and Showtime to say so.

The best are the best because they win and keep on winning against the #1, 2 and 3 ranked fighters.

So many of you talk so much nonsense about who is the best. Rank exists for that very reason: To distinguish the best for the rest.

You say Manny was one of the best? If that's true, who did he fight that was ranked in the top 3 spots that would validate that statement?

Its easy to mention names who USED TO BE ranked high and were previously on top, but fighting USE TO BE'S doesn't raise rank.

Look at what you're saying: Floyd should have fought a MW years ago. Its the only way you truly believe that someone can beat him .. by being 2 weight classes above.

            That's pathetic.

Your passive aggressive bullcrap has exposed your reverence for the dude's ability, but you thought you were subtle enough that no one would notice that you had to nominate a MW to beat a WW.
            THIS^^^^^
The funny thing is...noone will notice.

I honestly don't think Guerro will trouble Mayweather.

Floyd should fight Canelo at 154 then fight Martinez at 160. If he fights Martinez at 154 and wins his victory will be tainted. If he beats both at 154 and 160 he gains two lineal titles (maybe not at 154) and becomes a six weight world champion. He can retire an ATG then.

Martinez, big, fast enough to hit floyd and strong enough to knock him out. On top of that floyd seems to be on his way out. He took a lot of big shots from Cotto in their fight. Floyd is and should continue intelligently avoiding this fight..
