Highest paid is Stafford from your home city, at 29.5 mil a year. If Dak got 25 mil he'd be paid more than even Cam Newton who clocks in at 23 mil and is a former MVP.

If Mahomes keeps it up for another 2 seasons, I can see him being the first to get 40 mil a year.

He's only started for 1 season. Teams have now had an entire offseason to prepare for him. For him to get 40 mil per year, he needs to put up video game numbers again and take his team to the playoffs.

The thing about new England is that they convince players to take less. They aren't afraid to trade big name players if they aren't willing to play at their price. They did that with Chandler Jones.
