Russell Jr. looks the part. He got blazing hand speed but he's being moved along very slowly. It's easy to let your hands fly when you know nothing is coming back in return that can damage you.

Add that to the fact that he's in the lower weight classes which aren't as popular on the PPV circuit.

Russell will be 25 this year, while Broner is 23. Broner will fight Rees and hopefully we see him back against another top LW, hopefully either the winner of Burns-Vazquez or the winner of Abril-Bogere.

Russell, well we'll probably see him back against another TBA caliber opponent.

gary russell has potential but american boxers with quiet personas are not gravitated to as much as those who are hated

Broner skills and outspoken personality will make him the bigger star. Plus he will have a wider range of great fighters to fight from 135 up to 154.

Broner has accomplished more so far. I won't argue that.

But Russell's next opponent isn't a nobody, he's a Russian ranked #7 by the WBO. Slowly but surely he's moving his way up the rankings.

Probably Broner. I did think he looked good beating De Marco (whom I think is not bad ). Hope he looks as good as he fights more dangerous opponents.

Sadly, GRjr seems to not be making as big a splash as I'd thought he might.
