I'm not sure it was worth the 400 American lives to go to Kuwait to protect oil resources. Had Bush Sr. at least been honest about why we went over there and explained the urgency of protecting those resources perhaps it would have been better received.

The real estate bubble burst in the latter part of Bush's presidency. He failed to reign in the fed and Greenspan pushed for adjustable rate mortgages. Congress played a part, as well as Community Organizers such as Obama who sued banks to ease lending practices. So yes, there was blame to go around, but Bush had eight years to at least warn us of the bubble. His administration did little to nothing to prevent it from happening.

But in the context of this thread, Barbara trying to demonize Trump--I'd say her own husband and sons had plenty of shortcomings of their own. I realize she wants to defend her family, but bashing Trump and then celebrating the fact that her husband voted for Hillary??? Hillary? G.W. Bush is all too cozy now with the Clintons and Michelle Obama.

Protecting oil resources was pretty much the reason

Saddam Hussein would've controlled 1/4 of the world's proven oil reserves at the time

But to blame the entire thing on him, which is what "ran economy to the ground" means, is wrong

End of the day, the dotcom crash, Greenspan's insanely low rates late 90s, early 2000s, ppl buying houses they cant afford caused that crash

Bush admin did a lot after to fix it, Obama got credit for "fixing the economy" when he came in

In truth Obama slowed down that recovery which was already underway

McCain is definitely a RINO. His Maverickness is defined by cozying up to Democrats and defying what the party's constituents want. Gosh I hate talking politics, but I can’t keep quiet anymore. The reason President Trump got elected is because of people like Bush & Clinton’s and there Uni party.
Both of those families where exactly the same except the Bushes were north east stuffed shirts with class & and President Clinton was poor white trash from Arkansas.
Hillary was a opportunistic broad along for the ride until she felt like she was entitled to be president. But in the end they are the same swamp dwellers.
As for First Lady Barbra Bush,
I don’t want to stomp on her grave but all reports from many people Back then all used to say that Mrs Bush would start sipping vodka everyday buy 9 am and be absolutely Soused by Noon every day.
