  • Deconstructing Voting Patterns: Why Do Most White People Vote Republican?

If it weren't for white people the Republican party would be dead. I know why I shifted to voting overwhelmingly Republican. Why do you folks believe most white people vote Republican? Is it clearly because of economics and the conservative message, is it because of racism, or is it because of something else?

They are afraid of their position in power...they thing it's changing.

Many of them, in the South at least, are the same people that died to keep
2% of the population, the slaveowners, on top of the heap. The died for a cause that was
completely against their own interests. And they haven't changed.

Basically they will vote against the very things that they need, like health care, free government
food and benefits. Because they are afraid.

Those in the South, who vote Republican today, voted overwhelmingly Democrat as early as the late 1970's along with the black people who also voted up to 90% Democrat. The opposition was California, Oregon, and the north east. So did the South become more racist or less. Also what about the white people in the North like Pennsylvania, Ohio, Iowa, even NJ, Upstate NY and Massachusetts who vote overwhelmingly Republican, are they also racists voting against their own interest?

This kind of thought is why whites mostly vote republican. Not for the reasons he listed but for the way he see's those reasons.

He thinks it was against non slave owners interest to defend their homes.

          Yep! Control through fear!

No wonder they use religion to manipulate the population.

Exactly. Since the 1980's Republicans have used hot button religious issues such as gay marriage to excite the deplorable base and trick them into voting for politicians who take away their benefits such as food stamps. Spending the money on military needs and appealing to their patriotism allows their representatives to divert money from education, because their overlords don't want their base to get too "uppity". The same reps vote to keep the minimum wage down below a livable wage and again their base , the ones that actually need a higher minimum wage, believes that too is in their best interest. Meanwhile conservative businesses use illegals instead of white working class all the while bringing fear of "invasions" into the minds of the underclass.

Fear. It's all about manipulation of minds through fear in order to maintain power.

They died in 1861, 1862, 1863, 1864 and 1865. Fighting and dying for an upper class that fooled them into dieing for "their culture " and their "homes".

I did not use race in my argument. You did.

I’m guessing, wildly guessing... here goes.

I think they finally got tired of being lied to by the Dems, and are looking to be lied to by anyone else?
