Ben Davison, the head trainer of heavyweight Tyson Fury, saw several errors in Anthony Joshua's shocking defeat to Andy Ruiz. Ruiz pulled off a huge upset when he stopped Joshua in seven rounds on June 1 at Madison Square Garden in New York City, to capture the WBA, WBO, IBF, IBO heavyweight titles.

Just like I said. He never learned how to properly generate power at different ranges. His go-to is a maximum range shot. If he can't land that, he's vulnerable. We've seen it time and again now.

Yeah this is spot on. Joshua got inside and couldn’t get out once he missed. He couldn’t maintain distance if his intended shots didn’t land. I’ve seen fighters miss with a right and keep that right on the opponents shoulder to steer them away from throwing a counter, or miss a shot and push the opponents body or grab. Joshua missed shots and stood there and was made to pay

Yet the punch he dropped Ruiz with was a short left hook.

Bens right ,AJ is a ONE style guy...all this boxing he needs to look graceful spectacle is stupid.

He started looking more vulnerable when listening to all the know it alls.

he needs to stick to catch counter and be smart ( the fight was over when he had the FIRST knockdown ) ,no dropping his guard and the other stuff.

Hes 6'6 and is not made for a shoulder rolling defense fighter, its just dumb.

AJ will win a a ruiz rematch but does he stop listening to guys telling him he cant box when he didn't lose prior?

lol...pure stupidity...keep ythat same nergy when he defeats Ruiz you wilder cheer leaders . lol

Yeah it’s funny that he was struggling from the outside so he just forced his way inside and dropped bombs. It was an uppercut, hook combination I think? Remember thinking was stupid as he was never going to win a hooking competition with Ruiz’ short arms.

Whoever thinks ruiz is a better fighter than joshua knows s..t about boxing.joshua needs a sports therapist that will teach him how to cope getting outside his comfort zone aka greenwich time zone.dude is always worked up at face offs and when confronted for some reason you would think he is used to that by now

all Ruiz has to do in the rematch is straight charge in. something inevitably will land, and we'll have a repeat performance.

You’re right. He’s always trying to impress people he shouldn’t care about.

The fact that he’s that tall, yet tries to couch and fight short against short guys is bizarre. You can’t win like that with your long arms fighting against guys with short arms because they’ll always beat you to the punch.

He came out trying to do a Wilder. Paw, paw, paw and big right. You’re not fighting Breazeale for fu.ck. You have a jab, fighting behind the jab and move.

He’ll definitely win the rematch with ease. He fu.cked himself in the first fight. And now that all the casuals he’s trying to please are off the bandwagon, he should fight his normal fight and win comfortably. A guy as short as Ruiz shouldn’t be getting anywhere near your temple if you can fight tall.
