    Good one.

      1996
      Roy Jones Jr.
      Oscar De La Hoya

      Felix Trinidad
      Ricardo Lopez
      Junior Jones
      Kostya Tszyu
      Terry Norris
      Evander Holyfield
      Mark Johnson

      1997
      Oscar De La Hoya
      Roy Jones Jr.
      Felix Trinidad

      Evander Holyfield
      Terry Norris
      Junior Jones

If Mosley was "on roids" why are you calling him a great fighter?

Mayweather beat Corrales, Canelo, and Jose Luis Castillo. None of them were past prime. Unlike Oscar, Mayweather actually won his fights when he stepped up LOL

The only one who brings race into the discussion is you. So don't start crying when you're called a racist if you're going to act like one.
Is Oscar ahead of Roy because of the first Griffin fight? Because otherwise I don't know how the **** Oscar would be above Roy.

Ward and Kovalev are ranked Nos. 1 and 2, respectively, in THE RING pound-for-pound rankings.

The last time that happened was 20 years ago.

On April 12, 1997, Oscar De La Hoya won the WBC welterweight title when he defeated Pernell Whitaker by a 12-round unanimous decision at the Thomas and Mack Center in Las Vegas

Floyd's momentum was destroyed? He had the 2 biggest grossing fights in history after 07 and is poised to make another 9 figure payday. Maybe just maybe he made some solid decisions.

What is the source for that link? It won't open. Also, no way in hell was either Oscar or Whitaker ranked above Jones jr at that time so I call BS on that.

At one time Oscar was very overrated.

Goes both ways. Oscar pens an essay to boxing fans to not buy MayGregor yet Canelo-McGregor was the only fight that made sense.

                    Well he's obviousy mistaken.

Ring Magazine pound for pound ratings for 1996

                    Pound For Pound

                    Roy Jones Jr.
                    Oscar De La Hoya
                    Pernell Whitaker

Whitaker and Delahoya fought in 1997. So how in the hell would Whitaker be 1 or 2 in 1997 when he was 3 the previous year and on the decline as a fighter? To the point that Oscar was favored to beat him. It didn't happen.

Again, you keep putting at the end of the year shit and not the rankings when they fought. Boxrec shows ratings from Ring and yet you criticize someone who wrote on a Ring article. You're in denial.....even if they were 2 & 3.....it's fair to put the winner at #1.
