F#ck man thanks for the break down. I don't really understand the wide vs close options for sure I don't think.

I thought if the scorecards are in favor of one fighter by 12+ points (116-112 x3 or wider) = wide. And if the cards were 11 or less points for the winner = close. And based on that logic the first fight was 9 points Linares' way & my expectation is he'll do better this time. Is that not how the wide vs close options work?

And fwiw I do try to consider judge bias when considering results, but I actually felt this time around the judges might be more fair since the fight was a lil controversial with the scoring last time around.

should clear this up but I think for the purpose of the game 8-4 is actually close, that is 116-112.

I was also surprised because I think a fighter winning 8 rounds out of 12 is winning wide. But I get it, the only other close score card is 7-5, so you'd have 7-5 all alone, so i'm guessing bob added 8-4 as part of the "close" scores.

Props for the "wide" and 3X multiplier.

The fight is in England, Crolla is from England. First fight was easily 117-111 (9-3) Linares, took place in England too. Unfortunately only one judge scored it properly, and so did Boxingscene LiveScore, 117-111. 2 judges had it 115-114, 115-113. Expect the same kinda scorecards again even if Linares appears to win wide, I don't think he'll actually get wide scorecards. And it's very possible seeing last fights scores that if Crolla turns it up just a little bit more that he will get the upset if those hometown scores are any indication. That was with him losing 3 rounds.


Friendly advice, you only get two 3X multipliers in the year, don't waste them on fights like these, that could have scorecards that vary greatly compared to the actual fight everyone else watches. Your pick would make perfect sense if fair judging existed in boxing. Now sure you will still get 3x 20 for picking the correct winner but at least tweak your pick to "Close" so you can get those extra 3x 10 points. No way Linares wins wide in England. Wide in this game is 9-3 and up btw. Not a chance in hell.

Some possible clarifications for you guys:
Yes, close = score difference of 12 pts or less. Wide is all >close. So,
116-112 on all three cards = close.
116-112 on two cards and 117-111 on one card = wide.

Correct fighter = 20
Picking Decision or KO correctly = 5
Picking Wide/Close or 1-4/5-8/9-12 correctly = 5

So if you pick 3X wide decision and the outcome is
Wide decision = 30*3 = 90
Close decision = 25*3 = 75
KO = 20*3 = 60

Not trying to sway you into any particular choice, just making sure y'all have all the info about the game you need to make an informed choice. I haven't even made a choice myself yet... gonna watch Linares-Crolla after the Sweet 16 ends.

WIDE = Total score difference of >12 pts
eg. Wider than 116-112 on all three cards

I don't want to sway you into picking anything, because I don't want to be the reason why you would get something wrong and your OG pick turns out to be correct. But just keep in mind of the first fight and scorecards and the venue, and where the venue is for the second fight (same). Do you see the fight getting 116-112 for Linares? Linares will have to win every rd if not they will look to rob him.

They wanted to rob him in the first fight and he won like 10 rds in that one.

All crolla has to do is win atleast 3 rds and they will gift him this bogus unnecessary rematch.

Yeah Sweet 16 threw me off watching fights this week but I watched about three rounds of the first fight and saw the skill differential but I remember hometown bias might affect the judges scorecards.
