  • Are we going to pretend that Golovkin didn't just pull off a huge power play here?

Say what you want about him, but he held firm from all of GBPs threats to cancel the fight and went from 65-35 to at least 57.5-42.5. I say at least because who knows what the "Hail Mary" was.

We proved all of us (including me) wrong for calling him an idiot.

Also, so much for Canelo is the A-Side that can sell against whomever he wants. If that was the case, why surrender the split? Clearly, they know of Golovkin's value and that this fight is massive for both of them.

Golovkin has to be seen as one of the best businessmen in boxing history.

If it’s something positive GGG related it will either be ignored or spun around. Dude could stop world hunger and all global conflict and he’d probably be hated even more.

Yeah props to GGG. Sad he knew more what he was doing than his promoter

        it's 100% 55-45

they didn't have the deal at 57.5/42.5

What are you talking about? EVERYONE is saying it. I even called it yesterday, before it even went down.

          Who is pretending?

the only people who will still criticize GGG over this are just blind haters.

G knew that Canelo wouldn't get anywhere near what he would get even if he did 80/20 vs Jacobs or Sullivan or anyone else. He held firm and got what he wanted.

He's an idiot for the last month or so. He did catch a W today. Things are rarely 100% this or 100% that. Things are more grey my brothers & sissies. Team GGG needed a W after all the L's they been taken so respect to them for that.

                If he wins

We likely won't ever know what the actual split was (Alvarez wanted to give 42.5%, and Golovkin wanted 45%, so split the difference at 43.5% with the Mexico money not in the mix), but Golovkin is now happy with the deal.

Still, he's now a year older, the last fight was basically a 50/50 fight, he hasn't really done anything since tbh, he got stripped of one of his alleged prized belts, and he still likely has issues with fighting anyone who's not going to simply stand there and bang with him.

he beat clenelo there's no issues except for corrupt judges. Put in fair judges GGG wins 10/10.
