  • NSB PICK 'EM #48 AND #49. SAT 15th SEPTEMBER 2018

Friday 14th September, Fresno, California, USA (UTC -7)

Jose Carlos Ramirez vs Antonio Orozco

    and

Saturday 15 September, Las Vegas, Nevada USA (UTC-7)

Gennady Golovkin vs Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez

    BETTING ODDS:

    Ramirez: 1/2 Orozco: 6/4
    Golovkin: 4/6 Canelo: 11/8

    Ways fighters can win:

    Decision: WIDE or CLOSE
KO: EARLY (1-4), MID (5-8) or LATE (9-12)

Examples of the ways you can state your decision:

PICK EM CREW, Canelo, Decision, Wide x3
PICK EM CREW, Orozco, KO, Mid
If no multiplier is specified in your pick (ie x2, x3) then it will be assumed that no multiplier is being used (x1)
If you wish to pick a Draw result, simply state your Username, both fighter names and DRAW, ie:

PICK EM CREW, Ramirez, Orozco, DRAW
    NOTES:
-Draws are worth 120pts. A perfect pick without a multiplier is 30pts.

-CLOSE is <12 pts difference, or anything closer than 116-112 on all three scorecards. WIDE is >=12 pts difference, or anything equivalent to 116-112 on all three cards or wider.

-If you'd like to change your pick before the fight starts, post in this thread to do so. Ideally tag me so that I don't miss it.

-2X doubles your points and 3X triples your points. Everyone starts with 5 doubles and 3 triples to use throughout the year. If you forget how many you have left, check the leaderboard in the master thread.

hard one to pick, i think the judges will gift the decision to canelo but i cant really do these picks based on second guessing the judges, i though ggg won clearly first time round and i think its more of the same. People seem to think its canelo who has a second gear to go into but i dont think he does, his gas tank isnt going to improve and he was backpedalling for a reason. From what i see in rematches its usually the guy who finishes the fight better who does better in the rematch aswell.
I think we are gonna see a competitive fight but im expecting golovkin to push the pace earlier on and show him less respect than he did in the earlier rounds in the first fight. His activity SHOULD win him the fight, just like it did in most peoples eyes the first time. I dont think either fighter will be hurt bad at any point.

I havent heard of the other two fighters, dont even know what division that is so will go for the favourite.

                    KOBA: Golovkin, DEC, CLOSE
                    KOBA: Ramirez, DEC, CLOSE.

Probably I'd be picking Orozco except Fresno is a TR card. Golovkin vs Canelo? I'm riding with the old warhorse, but with much less certainty than first time round.
