They changed him with conspiracy to distribute Coke, but a conspiracy requires a meeting of the minds betwwn 2 or more persons. His attorney said "how can you have a meeting of the minds when everyone except DeLorean is a government agent. The jury understood this, not guilty!

Mr. DeLorean said the jurors had declared through their verdict that the Government had been wrong in its investigation and prosecution of him.

''Considering the horror my family has been through,'' Mr. DeLorean said, ''I hope the system can be corrected so nobody else has to go through that horror.''

Asked how much he had been harmed by the arrest and trial, he said his life had been ''tattered and torn'' and added, ''I don't know, would you buy a used car from me?''
