But what about Khan? He is going to be in the ring soon, and Lance Pugmire of the LA Times tweets that trainer Freddie Roach has floated Danny Garcia as a possible opponent for June 30, although it appears Khan will fight in July instead.
Garcia (23-0, 14 KO) would certainly be a credible opponent, no total gimme, and holds the WBC belt at 140. But that belt might not come into play, since Ajose Olusegun would probably have to be paid some significant step-aside money to pass on his mandatory shot at Garcia. Olusegun has been banging on loudly about getting the shot that is rightfully his for months now. He wants that title shot. I'm sure there's a number that could get him to sit on the sidelines a while longer, but it might not be a number Golden Boy wants to meet.
Khan (26-2, 18 KO) will need to name an opponent soon, since there's probably only about two months until he fights. We'll have more on possible opponents as this develops, so stick around.
