  • My Friend Just Told Me It's Floyd Who Is The Best Of His Generation

Over FB he was spouting off, but he made some relevant points.

-Has been involved in mainly world title bouts for more than a decade.
-Beat the #1 champion in each division he has fought in.
    - Won as the underdog
    - has never lost
    - is routinely outsized
    - Beaten 5 P4P ranked fighters

    Floyd Mayweather's elite Wins:
    Corrales, Castillo, Delahoya, Mosley, Marquez

    Strong Wins:
Judah, Hatton, Corley, Hernandez, Manfredy, Cotto, Ortiz, Baldomir

Especially since his contemporaries have mostly fallen off, he has no notable losses, and is still going strong at 35 and fighting top fighters.

It's an interesting case these days since no one else can actually claim this.

The other salient point imo is that for the most part he dominated these opponents. He either stopped them or won very lopsided decisions.

Yes, he really doesn't lose many rounds.

Add the fact he was the highest ranked fighter P4P fighter for pretty much the entire decade.

          It is still debatable though.

and it depends on what you classify as a generation. 25 years? 15? If it's 25 then I would have Whitaker but the last 15 or so it's Mayweather.

Especially over the last little while, with Arum screwing around with Pacquiao's career royally.

He's made this thread about 30 or so times already I think.

Thanks OP. Floyd fans are going to have a field day and have their egos raised.
