I don't think its a coincidence the klits are viewed in this way.

They don't explode like athletes, have good footwork or balance.

They often look amateurish when in trouble.

These are the obvious things that make me doubt them, what skills do they possess really?

    Floyd mayweather : Shoulder Roll/ Adaptability/Footwork

Do you really count a long stiff jab as a skill? Obviously he has basic skills but basic doesnt make you great....just good.

There's style advantage too. The height compliments their styles very well.

Look at guys like Corrales, Mathebula, Funeka, they are/were very sloppy, and they had the height advantage of 5' 11" against guys who are 5' 5"- 5' 8".

It's the style. Whether Floyd was 5' 8", or 6' tall, he would have still been undefeated regardless. Because his style is so superior to every one else's style.

Wlad was getting knocked out in his late 20s, then changed to a style that suits his height better, and hasn't even suffered a knocked down.

        .
So if the Klitchkos were smaller they would still be champions because of their skills?

Sorry, I forgot about the 7 foot plus champion Valuev. His giant size and weight came with being a little slow and clumsy. The greatest heavyweights in history have mostly been between 5' 11" and 6' 4" and 190 to 220 pounds, not giants.

Wlad might be a cruiserweight if he was 5 inches shorter.

No one says Canera or Williard were as good as the brothers. They are two of the best tall heavyweights that ever lived. There have been more heavyweight champs 6 foot 2 inches or shorter than champions 6 foot 5 inches or over. Wladimir just KOed a good heavyweight that was taller than him. There is more to being good than height and reach. If they were 6 foot 2 inches they would be lighter and faster and probably adopt a dirrerent style.
              Good post. green k

                Actually Wlad's footwork is great.

If NBA players were 5'7 instead of 6'7, they would all be average.
If NFL players weighed 150 instead of 250, they all would average.
If Usain Bolt didn't have long legs, he would average.
If Michael Phelps didn't have long arms, he would average.
If LeBron James was 5'8 150 instead of 6'8 250, he would be average
                  etc, etc, etc.

yes, size matters. it matters in all sport, boxing is no different. so what is your point?

Both bros are the best ever at there respective sizes.. that means out of hundreds upon hundreds of fighters who have fought at there size.. they are the cream of the crop.. IT's the same with the NBA.. You got guards (think paq/may) you got small forwards...think light heavys... cruisers are power forwards & heavyweights are centers... Great centers have come in all shapes & sizes. HAKEEM was 6ft 10... Chamberlain.. Kareem 7 ft plus. The brother's play the big center position & this is really the only position you can compare them to... that means fighters who've been heavyweights regrdless of size as that's the ONLY position they qualify for

If we're going to compare what Louis & Marciano did when they were closer to the cruiserweight classes in size & have them adhere to what the brother's have done... then SIZE is Not AN issue... you all played the same position & competition regeardless of how we grade them are all one & the same for the most part.. only differing aspects is but a few great heavies one has fought..

Ali.. Louis.. every alltime great has faced a tony Thompson numerous times & sometimes less skilled than him FOR THE MAJORITY of there careers.. you all act as if we've never seen comp like this before when alltime greats of the past have all set the precedence IN one form or another... big deal if one alltime great has fought a couple of more alltime greats... how in any way does this make him more superior... this comp we trash the Klitschko brother's for fighting makes up 80 -90 % of the comp past greats were fighting & you all know it.. TAKE A LOOK At all the names... not just the few or more that were recognizable & you will them all litttered with Tony Thompsons & Larry Donald's.
