  • Comments Thread For: Lennox Lewis: Early Stoppage - Takam Had Senses, Looked Strong!

Former undisputed heavyweight champion Lennox Lewis disagreed with the referee Phil Edward's decision to stop last Saturday's heavyweight contest between IBO, WBA, IBF heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua and challenger Carlos Takam. Takam, who went down in the fourth and suffered two cuts during the contest, was starting to do better in the later rounds, while Joshua appeared to be slowing down and breathing heavy as they entered the tenth.

Nosecwasnt broken. But yes it wasc stopped early. You let him fight with a cut for 8 rounds why stop it with 2 rounds too gio?
If you was a caring ref you might as well have stopped it with first cut or at least second cut

The ref had his mind made up that he was stopping the fight and thats why he headlocked Takam after an AJ flurry even though Takam wasn't hurt and unresponsive.

Lennox Lewis avoided a lot of controversy fighting in America, these UK refs and judges are the worst in the sport. Lennox went out in Los Angeles California U.S.A like a BOSS.

A.J the Bellend, Gaymaker are just not on the level of Lewis they just dont have the balls to fight let alone end their careers in the Mecca of boxing -- stay selling 5$ ppv in the UK you bums.

But they all Harper on about how he did so well with a broken nose lol.

The things people say so to make that fight look better.

Next it will be oh he stubbed his toe, that's why he fought like that.

This is boxing your gonna get hit in the face a lot, but watching the headbutt Aj moved into it lol

Takam was even using some very nice head movement that a prime Mike Tyson would have been proud of when avoiding that last flurry lol that stoppage was a joke.

I agree, if he was going to stop it then he should have stopped it earlier when the cut was gushing blood. Another stupid stoppage that ruined what could have been a moral victory for Takam.

I'll say one thing about AJ, he's very humble and magnanimous victory. He went to Takam's corner and he spent what seemed like 5 minutes talking to the guy.
