What does that has to do with the point made in this thread? The point is he has always had power to knock out the best period! He can ko in the 1st or the 9th or the six for that matter!

Anyone can be knocked out especially when you get hit as clean as Pacquiao did. Watch the fight closely and you'll see JMM was waiting to land that punch all fight, he was throwing mostly the left and going to the body with it. This lulled Pacquiao in to thinking that was the punch he had to watch for, i believe this is why Pacquiao came in at that stupid angle that lined his chin up with JMM's right. JMM laid the trap and Pacquiao walked in to it, with fantastic results. Pacquiao lost the previous fights but got lucky decisions, his luck ran out.

True chins are one of the first things to go on an aging fighter, after speed... But can Manny really be that far gone?

Or is Marquez now, (somehow) a devastating puncher

I mean, if he can KO Manny, there aren't that many fighters around that he can't KO... I doubt even Rios would stand up for long

Is Marquez the new man to be feared, or was it more Pacquiao's fault?

that was a combination of marquez working on his strenght for the fight and paquio being sloppy....look at the KO....paquio actually tripped over marquez left foot and was going forward while marquez caught him with that vicious right........

plus marquez wanted this fight more than anything else...the hungrier guy won....

Pac didn't have an Atg chin... Wtf... He had a pretty good chin, nothing out of this world. You act like he was fighting tommy hearns or julian jackson every fight. Lets not forget he had been KOd before....

Also Marquez had hurt Pac on more than one occasion previously....A few zab dances were made by pac before...Hejust never put as much torque as he seemed to last night. He used to hit him with counters going back or sideways. He wound these up and stepped into them. The third round shot was massive, Pac was in great shape to have gotten up.

The last great chin we saw at welter was Shane's imo. Maybe Marg's but Marg got KOd badly...

Pac literally ran at that straight in the 6th... Pac's face hit Marquez's fist harder than the fist hit his face <__<..

Nobody is looking at the fact that this dude has been weight training for more than a year now, and has been doing all kinds of other up to date workouts like plyometrics. He is getting help from a dude with three college degrees relevant to athletics. Therefore, it is not shocking, what was seen yesterday. Boxing has been in the dark ages forever. I always though a lot of Manny Pacquiao's success was due to his knowledgeable strength and conditioning coach, Alex Ariza. They brought science into the sport of boxing, and results were shown. Think about some of these Mexican fighters who were great doing it the old school way, guys like Morales, Barrera, Marquez. Imagine if they would have had a strength and conditioning coach. With hard work anything is possible, provided the talent is there.

Even if Pac wins, he's not a defensive fighter and he walked through cotto Mosley, Hatton and clottey's best shots

The biggest tell that Pac is declining is that he took even harder shots from Marquez last year, who's body looks like it does now.
Hatton and Clottey are not huge punchers, and Cotto and Mosley were drained barely a shell of themselves. Margarito not a great puncher without the bricks either, but up till last night he gave Pacquiao the hardest punches as a naturally bigger man.

yes. pacquiao ate wild forms of precise and hammering rights before and he was taking them like hot cakes.

for me its just a combination of marquez's training and conditioning and ofcourse pac's decline that led to it.

pac can no longer take it.

Yes, especially if the guy getting knocked is leaping forward to strike and catches his foot and lifts his head up in the air on impact.
